Currently in the Adams 12 Five Star School District, students who ride the bus, have a designated “bus stop” near their home where the bus picks them up and drops them off. But would picking up students individually be better?
How do School Buses Work?
School buses are an efficient way to go to school and come back for free in this district. Want to ride the bus? First you must be an eligible student (a walking student) to ride the bus. Then click here to apply for a ride.
Facts to know about School Buses
School buses mostly come on time which is something good to know so you don’t have to get prepared and wait outside for 10 minutes. Most school buses are Eco-Friendly like here in Century. Another way it’s eco friendly is that it uses slightly less fuel and can carry a lot of students according to LoveTheMaldives.com.
But sometimes school buses can break down and you won’t even know about it and you’ll be late. If school buses pick up and drop off students individually, they will come to school or get back home late more often because some students will get picked up late and the bus will have to wait for them. For example, if 2 or more students come late on the same day, you’ll probably be late to school so this leads to the question…
Should school buses pick up students individually?
Although it will be comfortable for the bus to come to your doorstep, think about it, will your neighbors be comfortable with the loud engine? Will they want the school bus in their neighborhood every morning? Probably not. I think school buses shouldn’t pick up individually because I like waking up early and walking to the bus stop which is approximately 10 minutes walking, even though it’s a pain in the neck in the blazing sun in the afternoons but in the winter it is chilly so there’s not much to complain about if you have a jacket or something to keep you warm.

I also agree that we should keep the bus stops and not have students be picked up individually because I think it would be safer for the students because the other people on that bus won’t know where the other people live unless you have a friend on that bus and you know where that friend lives.
