This website, cmsmedia.org, is home for the student-run media programs at Century Middle School in Thornton, Colorado.

Comet Chronicles is our online student newspaper and is staffed by the 8th grade Publications students. Publications class is a challenging and fast-paced elective course that you can take in 8th grade. In that class, students create content for our student-run newspaper and literary magazine, our weekly KCMS News show, and design the annual yearbook.

Comet Creations is a section of our online newspaper where we showcase creative works such as fiction, poetry, and visual art. All Century Middle School students are welcome to submit work to put on our website – please contact Ms. Beers in room E100 for more info, or send her an email.

Make sure to visit our YouTube channel to view our weekly news show as well as video projects from students in the 7th and 8th grade multimedia classes.

The majority of the funding for our program comes from donations and grants. Want to make sure that student-run media is here to stay? Click the donate at the bottom of any news story to give directly to the CMS Media program.
