You may have heard of a popular meme that many kids are saying. If you go into any classroom, it’s likely you’ll hear someone shout 6-7.
The meme 6-7 started from a TikTok song called “Doot Doot” in which the lyrics reference the height of a basketball player.
“It’s fantastic,” says 7th grader Austin Brady. “… cause 6-7.”
Unlike other recent memes, 6-7 is not something inappropriate or negative
“I like the meme 67 because there is no bad meaning to it and because it's fun to say,” says 7th grader Addi Tallman.
However, not everyone loves the meme 6-7.
“I think every student who says it should get more homework because it makes no sense to me,” said sixth grade teacher Ms. Sack.
Even though some teachers don’t like the 6-7 trend, other teachers don’t seem to mind it.
“It’s not incredibly annoying, it’s pretty harmless, and it’s not inappropriate,” said core plus teacher Ms. Beers.”So I don't mind it too much.”
The 6-7 meme still seems to be going strong despite some students thinking it’s “getting old”.
“It’s mentioned too much, but I don’t really mind it,” said eighth grader Eliseo Salazar.
