Have you heard of FCCLA? It’s one of Century’s new clubs, and stands for Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. This club focuses on how to make your school and community a better place.
Century was lucky enough to get invited to go to the FCCLA district conference for Adams 12 schools on October 28. Some other schools that attended were Northglenn High School, Legacy High School, Thornton High School, and Broomfield High School. Century was the only middle school there which was a good thing.
Mrs Bricker said “It is a great opportunity for them to get started at FCCLA and to see what FCCLA is all about. “
There, students were able to do things such as make food like spring rolls, and practice their cutting skills. They also got to learn about safe driving habits and sources of strength.
7th grader Aron Martinez Sanders said “It was a great learning opportunity because I got to learn that FCCLA is not just about cooking, it is about leadership.”
I also interviewed 8th grader Kendall Klautsch about the FCCLA district conference, and if she would continue with FCCLA in high school, “Yes, I think it is a great opportunity to get involved and be role models for your school.”
Overall for any kids at Century who are leaders and want to be more involved don’t be afraid to join. Stop by the main office to find out how you can join today.
